Role
Game Designer
Supereficiente is a city management game. The goal was to create a game that would inform and teach children in school about energy efficiency.
The game was made by Campus Studio in partnership with the Roberto Marinho Foundation and Eletrobras.
The goal of the project was to reformulate the analog game Super Eficiente into a digital version, in order to create a teaching kit for the Energia que Transforma project.
The game includes:
Puzzles for teaching energy efficiency in public schools

Different city types (Rural, Small, Medium, and Big)

Multiple stages that increase in difficulty, each with more complex demands
PS: The game is only available in Portuguese.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was adapting the analog game Super Eficiente for the digital environment, with the requirement to expand the game to contain several cities.
In order not to lose the essence of the analog game, we kept the core mechanic of purchasing household appliances, while adding more options. We also introduced a more advanced strategic element to it, where each appliance has a unique impact on the city's needs.
We designed a trilemma ("Energy consumption" vs "demand from city people" vs "object cost") to bring balance to the player's choices, as they must always be aware of the 3 aspects to win a stage.
Considering the game's complexity, it was necessary to make an interactive tutorial that provided all the necessary information to the player without tiring them.
When testing with young people from public schools, there was a need for a character who could guide them, pointing to places that should be seen or clicked on and putting together a narrative.
Other than the interactive tutorial, the player also had access to a screen with all necessary information separated into categories, so it could be easily accessed if the player missed something or had any questions.
